The 2022 WBGA All Age Championship Trial was no disappointment. It was hosted by our
Beaver Lake Beagle Club, near Joplin, MO. Thanks to a gracious host and local club president
Alex Burgraff and his VP Max Reynolds for a job well done! Outstanding weather with just
enough moisture provided us with some superb running. The cover was great and the rabbit
population was plentiful. All of our running was done out in the wild and not in a pen. After all
the females finished up Saturday we ran our Absolute class, which consisted of our top 4
hounds. These hounds earned points throughout the year. That is a major accomplishment and
requires a lot of time and money to travel to all the WBGA trials from Texas to Illinois. These
hounds didn’t disappoint anyone and we had a great race!
Saturday evening, we held our 3 rd annual WBGA Awards Banquet. It took a team effort to pull
this one off, but I believe we hit a HOMERUN!! From great food and drink to fantastic door
prizes, awesome table decorations and even hidden raffle tickets under the chairs. We started
off with our 4 high point hounds of the year. Congrats to each one of them! 13” female winner
Quik Chek Lil Daisy, Danny Gordan, 15’’ female winner Petit’s T Town Sassy, Aaron Petit, 13”
male winner Yellow Rock Grady’s Last Dance, Joe and Tim Kasmarzik, 15” male winner Boothills
Bob, Brandon Scott and Nick and Wendy David. We also handed out our traveling trophy. This
award goes to the highest overall point hound of the year. Our winner had 270 points this year
and she was also our Absolute winner earlier that day. Congrats to Aaron Petit and Petits T
Town Sassy. Wow!!
We then mixed it up a little with some great door prize give aways from Ice chests, portable
Blackstone grill, dog training supplies, cordless drills, 1000 lbs of dog food, dog houses,
whelping nest, well over $3000 worth of prizes. Our Secretary, Wendy David even put together
a special drawing and unique prize for all the women that were there. I’m pretty sure the fancy
bottles I saw in the womens gift baskets didn’t say for ticks and fleas, but I bet they will smell
really good! We also had a few clubs go together and in a show of their appreciation gave a
very special award to our WBGA secretary, COBC secretary, Cedar Ridge treasurer, Lavaca
treasurer and St. Francis secretary, Wendy David!! Wow, talk about the ultimate volunteer!
Thank you, Wendy.
We continued into the evening with our inaugural fundraiser “Auction of Hunts”. Many of our
club members donated their time and expertise to allow someone the chance to purchase a
great hunt or fishing adventure. Our hunts included Arkansas swamp rabbit hunt, Missouri
rabbit and dove hunt, Oklahoma deer and turkey hunt, bowfishing trip and a guided crappie
fishing trip on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. We actually did the crappie drawing live on FB. We
will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the UBGF Jr Handler Program. We then
concluded with our shotgun and cash raffle drawing which was also done live on FB. Congrats
to Max Reynolds and Larry Edwards son-in-law, Glen.

Sunday morning found us again with a beautiful day for beagling. The males had a great day of
finding rabbits with some outstanding races. We wrapped up the weekend just after lunch
Sunday!
Congrats to everyone that placed this weekend and hope to see everyone next year! Have a
safe summer. Thanks again to our sponsors. Okie Dog Supply, Gundog Supply, Caniex dog food,
Easy Loader dog box, Valu Pak dog food and Pat’s Trophies.
Regards
Don Waller, President WBGA
